New food pick up procedures & April Break

5.6.2020

Dear Brewer Schools Families,

I hope you are well.

Due to recent updates in safety precautions I wanted to alert you to a few new procedures during our breakfast/lunch pickup. First, our volunteers will be wearing masks. No one is sick, but this is now seen as a prudent safety precaution and we will follow it.

Also, we will now place the meals on a table and the driver of the vehicle will step out and retrieve the meals from the table. This will allow us to better observe the 6 feet of space between people guideline.

Finally, the week of April 20 through April 24 is the official break and we will be giving our workers that time off as we normally would. To help families out, we will give you the opportunity to put in for a food care package. We'll take orders this week (a notice will be placed in lunches on Tuesday & Wednesday) and we will do our best to create a care package for that family and distribute it on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17 during the regular breakfast/lunch distributions on those days. We have some donations to help in this effort, and we will also be working to purchase food staples to fill in the gaps.

You are all in our thoughts.

Sincerely,

Gregg Palmer
