Dear Brewer Schools’ Families,
In this update I am happy to announce that, thanks to Food Services Director Sandy Hodgins, the Brewer School Department has been granted a waiver by the USDA to provide breakfast and lunch to our students at no cost until December 31, 2020. This began this past Monday, September 14th.
We are working on a plan to provide meals to students working remotely and will provide additional information on that shortly.
PLEASE, if you haven’t already done so, we are asking that you still complete an application for free or reduced price meals. This needs to be in place prior to when the waiver ends on December 31st so there is no interruption in free and reduced student meals.
This information is also very important for other grant opportunities for our school department. No matter if your family qualifies or not, having every family complete this application for every student will help us access important funding. This waiver is a fabulous benefit for all families in the Brewer School Department. Again, no one will pay for meals through December 31, 2020.
