Dear Brewer School Department Families,
Here is a link to an A/B calendar for our hybrid school schedule. This shows you which days will be for our students in group A (last name A through K) who attend in-person, during a typical 5-day week, Mondays and Thursdays; and which days will be for our students in group B (last name L through Z) who attend in-person, during a typical 5-day week, Tuesdays and Fridays with Wednesdays a flex day -- with no students in the building -- for everyone.
A reminder that we are making adjustments for families with students who have different last names along with a few other adjustments to keep the numbers as close to 50% each day. You should be contacted if your family is affected no later than end of day this Friday, August 14, 2020.
It is of course our hope that we will transition, before the year is out, from a hybrid schedule to a full return to school for everyone based on continued low case counts and a vaccine or other solutions for beating this virus. If and when that happens, this calendar would no longer be required.
We have, however, imagined it as a year-long calendar just in case. We know you may need it to plan for your family and so we wanted to make sure everyone had it.
Finally, thank you for the 880 completed questionnaires. if you haven't filled out the school reopening Questionnaire for School Reopening regarding each of your children and which choice for return to school you believe, at this point in time, they will be accessing please do so. It will help us to plan for the upcoming school year.
We are trying hard to operationalize plans that are both detailed and flexible for Brewer Schools' families. Your children -- our students (all 1,600+ of them) -- remain our most important concern as we try to balance all concerns.
