Dear BCS Families,
It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of July! We hope this update finds our BCS families doing well and enjoying all that summer in Maine has to offer. Although more information will be coming out in August as we get closer to the start of school, we wanted to reach out in order to share some important highlights with you now.
Classroom assignments for the upcoming year should have been listed on your child’s K-5 report card in June. (If you don’t know who their Grade 1-6 classroom teacher is, please feel free to call the school office.) If you have a PK or Kindergarten student and do not know their classroom assignment yet, you will receive that information in August. Homeroom placements for grades 7 and 8 will be posted outside of classroom doors during open house and on the first days of school.
Our amazing grade level teams have each provided a welcome letter and list of suggested school supplies for their students, which we have linked below and have also posted on our school website. Please remember that the school has everything your child needs, but these lists are provided each summer for families who prefer to purchase their own.
Sports Physicals are required for all students that plan on participating in BCS middle school extracurriculars prior to tryouts. Please take a few moments to read the Sports Physical Letter with important information on the details and requirements. The BCS Sports Physical Form must be completed by your child’s physician.

For planning purposes, we have listed our arrival and dismissal times for those who transport their child(ren) to and from school. We are not able to accommodate early arrivals, as there will not be supervision before the times listed below.
Middle School Arrival: 7:30-7:50
Middle School Dismissal: Pick up 1:50, Bus 1:55
Elementary Arrival: 8:10-8:30
Elementary Dismissal begins at 2:45
Grades 3 & 4 Pick up - 2:45 (main entrance/traffic circle)
Grades 1 & 2 Pick up - 2:45 (playground gate by the marquee)
K Pick up - 2:50 (playground gate by the marquee)
PK pick up 2:50 (main entrance)
PK-4 Busses depart by 3:00
Our fall open house is tentatively scheduled for Monday, August 28th. Keep your eyes open for more information coming your way, as we will be sharing more details around our open houses and fall opening soon. We can’t wait to see all of our K-8* students back for the first day of school on August 30th, 2023! (*The first day of Pre-K is on September 5th.)
