Elementary Learning Resource Folders

Brewer Community School, Grades K-4

Distribution of At Home Learning Resources

Dear Families,

I hope that you are all doing well during these difficult times.  First and foremost, we want you to know how much we miss your children, and that we are here to help!  Hopefully you have seen the Brewer’s Optional Home Learning Activities, and have found them helpful.  As we move into the second phase of our school department’s “remote learning,” teachers and grade level teams have been working to develop ways to provide more specific, grade level opportunities for their students.  None

These opportunities will consist of an initial folder/packet filled with many different learning ideas and resources specific to each grade level. In addition to the resource folders, teachers will begin connecting with families in order to provide fresh ideas each week. The initial packet/resource folders will be linked on our website by Monday 3/30, and we will also share that link with families for easy access as soon as it is available.  If you are able, feel free to access them digitally and print what you want at home. For families that prefer a hard copy of the materials, we will be providing folders available for pick up at the following times:

Friday, 3/27

  • 9:30-10:30 (Kindergarten - 2nd grade students)

  • 12:30-1:30 (3rd - 4th grade students)

Monday, 3/30

  • 9:30-10:30 (Any K-4 students, or families with students in multiple grades)

If you already come for lunch pick up from 11:00-12:15, folders can also be picked up at that time. The procedure to pick up folders will be to pull up in the parent drop off circle and remain in your vehicle.  A staff member will come to you and ask for your student’s name and grade, and we will bring the folder to you. If you are not able to make it to one of the scheduled pick up times, and need a hard copy, please call the BCS office between 9:00 and 12:30, Monday through Friday, to make alternative arrangements.  The office number is 404-5700.

Our primary concern is the safety and well being of our BCS families. With that said, our goal over the next few weeks is to connect with students and families and give them some flexible opportunities to help with daily structure and school engagement.  Please use the resources we provide in whatever way works best for your family and circumstances, and do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the school with any questions.

Take Care,

Allison Kahkonen
